Plumbing & electrical: Anything involving pipes or wires should be handled by licensed professionals. It’s not just safer. It’s legally required in most cases.

Waterproofing: Especially in bathrooms and laundries. Improper waterproofing can cause leaks, long-term damage, and expensive repairs.

Tiling in wet zones: Precision is key here. An uneven floor or poorly cut tile can cause water issues and ruin the finish.

Structural work: Knocking out walls? Reinforcing beams? These need an engineer's eye and council approval.

When you factor in warranties, resale value and peace of mind, bringing in the pros is often the cheaper choice long-term.
